The frequency and viability of using the web platform to build applications is on a meteoric rise. Despite the global nature of the web, the internationalization toolchain is lagging far behind other more notoriously sexy disciplines like data-binding and drop-shadows. We're left with an environment that isn't friendly to anything that requires lots of data constantly being loaded, and that has little-to-no native support for multi-language strings. There are a lot of cool projects and specifications that don't get quite as high on hacker news but that are solving these problems. Scouts honor, there are some super-interesting problems when it comes to building an app that has flexible pluralization and gender control. This talk will identify the problems and hopefully a few solutions to not killing yourself while internationalizing your sweet new single-page app.
